About this activity

At Kaimana Ocean Safari you'll be guided by professionally trained ocean guides, boat captains, and underwater photographers to observe and interact with various wildlife along the Kona coastline. Our vessel only takes 6 people max so you beat the typical tourist trap large vessels for a more intimate experience. We approach our unique tours “safari” style, meaning we cover vast areas of the coastline in search of marine life aboard our vessel. We believe “the search” is part of the fun and allows nature to deliver the adventure. Join us on an incredible journey leaving you with a lifetime of memories! Wildlife is unpredictable and we cover as much ground as possible to see as much as we can.

Amazing Experience

This was an absolutely amazing experience! Our captain Brenna did an outstanding job in addition to Mori who guided us through the Ocean Safari. Highly recommend 10/10 must do while you are visiting. A great mix of a fun/enjoyable boat day, snorkeling and seeing a variety of ocean wildlife!

Incredible experience!!!

The Ocean Safari was an amazing experience! The boat’s captain, Brenna, did an incredible job piloting the boat and had an eye for spotting rare wildlife. The entire crew from the beginning emphasized safety and responsible interactions with ocean creatures. I can tell that the crew members are passionate and enjoy sharing the experience with all participants onboard. I can’t recommend this enough.

Best Big Island Adventure

The family had the best time! We saw it all! Pilot Whales, Mantas, Tiger Sharks, False Killer-Whales and multiple species of dolphin. Olivia and Cam were great hosts and the small boat experience was top notch. My 10 year old described it as one of the best days of his life. So glad we booked this trip.

Incredible experience

This was an incredible experience!!! We had some awim bys from false killer whales, got to swim with manta rays as well as swimming with an adolescent shark. Also had an incredible interaction above the surface with false killer whales and watched them interacting with a humpback. Saw tons of humpbacks and a pod of spinner dolphins as well. I’ve done a fair amount of dives and ocean adventures but I’d have to say this was hands down one of my absolute favorite days out on the water! Everyone was so great and these folks really care about our oceans and have a passion to share it with others! Can’t say enough great things about these folks and my time spent with them! Mahalo for such an incredible and rewarding experience and thank you for being such great advocates for our oceans!
