Best tour ever!

This was the most awesome tour and our guide Stefan made it so much more with his vast knowledge and he was just great! Would definitely recommend to everyone - no hiking for people that can't handle long walking in high altitudes!
Feel like your in outer space without the rocket!
Linda_M, 21-09-2022
There are only a few places on earth where you can see the Milky Way without a telescope and it’s worth it to travel to the Big Island and take this Hawaiian Eyes tour to see it all on the Best Mauna Kea Summit tour. They are the only company allowed to stay past sunset at the summit for the star gazing. They provide a telescope and Hiro was an awesome guide pointing out all the constellations. He also knew how to get photos of you with the Sun setting above the clouds and position you as if you were holding the sun and other incredible poses so you could post from your phone. You really feel like you traveled to outer space, it’s humbling and breathtaking and I have photos to prove it. Because you are above 13,000 feet you may need to put on a parka and gloves as it can get below 30 degrees and have wind chill. They provide all you need. So go there’s a reason why all the worlds telescopes are out there be a part of this great universe.
Fantastic Mauna Kea Experience!

Wow what an experience!! This was the high light of my vacation. The sunset was amazing, the stars were beautiful and my guide was super knowledgeable. He knew everything about the stars and history of everything. The sandwich was delicious which I was not expecting it to be. This is a must do!!

Mauna Kea amidst multiple skies

Shoyo was a great guide. He gave us a lot of information about the island on the way up. He took a lot of photos and dropped them to us before the end of the tour. Stargazing was great, especially with the super laser pointer to guide the viewing. It was awesome to see the mountain and surrounding skies in the daylight, at sunset and at night.
Above the clouds

Beautiful scenery above the clouds! The road there is bumpy but so worth it. Our guide Wes was very knowledgeable. He made the trip!
Breakdown but got a refund
Sarah_L, 03-02-2023
Van broke down on the way up. We were able to hitch a ride with others going up. We found a ride back down to the visitor center where another van met us and we were able to stargaze, eat our sandwiches and drink hot chocolate. The tour operator gave us a full refund.
