Best tour ever!

The only reason I rated this a 5 is because there was no rating higher. This was one of the best excursion experiences I’ve had in many years of travel. When we arrived at the pick up location we found out that the resort wanted us to valet our vehicle at a cost of $50. We called in to our tour company and the when the folks at Kailani found out, they arranged a pick up at a local market where we could park for free. Everything about this trip was first class. Large spacious van, delicious lunch and dinner and several snacks along the way. The itinerary was very well planned and every stop was amazing. As good as all this was, by far the best part of the tour was our guide Jim. He made the trip enjoyable and was not only extremely knowledgeable but he was a fantastic storyteller. The lavender scented hot towels were amazing and we topped the night off with a trip to a lava eruption at night which was amazing.
Amazing tour of Hawaii with nighttime viewing of the active eruption!

Highly recommend this tour! It is a perfect mix of exploring a good portion of the island and then time at the volcano. Seeing the volcano at night with the active eruption is an amazing experience. Our tour guide Derrek was excellent. He is so knowledgeable about the island, the volcanos, geology and shows a great love for Hawaii. The food throughout the day was great and the nice sit down meal before heading out to view the volcano at night is a great touch. Would highly recommend this tour experience to others!!
Best travel tour ever!

My first time to Hawaii but I have been to many other destinations where I took tours.
My wife and I took our 8 year old granddaughter and her parents on this tour. Our guide was incredibly informative and also funny. He was great with adults and kids alike.
This is an extremely long day’s tour but definitely worth it.
Be rested up and you’ll get a tour you’ll never regret.
You can’t miss seeing The Kilewea volcano eruption’s!

You can’t go to Hawaii without seeing the constantly erupting volcano and Kailani tours provided the best experience. You get to walk on the black sand beach have authentic Kona coffee at the plantation and a lovely lunch as well. The highlight however is being at the volcano national park for an excellent dinner and seeing the volcano erupt at night. Our awesome guide set up a telescope so we could safely view the eruptions and lava flows close up as they now have to keep you a mile away since the 2019 eruption took out the crater rim and surrounding road. The video of the volcano devastation that they show in the van was unbelievable. Make sure you go on this tour you won’t be disappointed.
Must see on the big island

The volcano was amazing to see. Derek was very knowledgeable. The food was very good. Come prepared to walk to the volcano, 1.1 miles each way.
Deluxe Volcano Tour

This was a wonderful tour and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Grant was a first class tour guide and it was made even better because the volcano was erupting. The lava lake at night was stunning.
Wow, best Tour we have done in a LONG TIME

The favorite part of the trip was the night time view of Kilauea volcano crater. Our guide Jim Carey had a high powered binocular telescope that he set up for us so we could be up close and personal to the eruption. It was strikingly awesome. Jim had continuous stories and educated us on Hawaiian culture.

What sounds like a long day felt very short with the stops at the coffee plantation with lunch, bakery, black sand beach, daytime viewing at the volcano, steam vents, nice dinner at Kilauea lodge followed by the exploding lava viewing at night.

The nighttime return drive was a good distance back to our hotel, but felt shorter due to the video of the 2018 volcano eruption at Leilani estates. We can't say enough about how Jim, our guide, made the entire trip worthwhile.
Lifelong memories from long day

Jim Carey was a great driver and host who was fully committed to our group. Stories and sharing of knowledge were a bonus. As part of a well behaved group we had extra time for additional site visits.
Breathtaking Volcano Experience

This was a five star experience from beginning to end. Getting to tour Volcano National Park and see an active lava lake at night was spectacular! It was like we next to the lava with a tour guide, Bryce’s spotting scope. I’ve talked to people who have driven their rental cars to the park but their experience didn’t sound as amazing as ours. Bryce gets you up close and personal to the lava action, lava tubes, and steam vents while giving you factual interesting information the entire time. We also got to see a green Hawaiian sea turtle at the Black Sand Beach and have lunch and Kona coffee at a beautiful coffee farm. This tour is well worth the price and I’m so glad we chose it!
It was truly a great day.

The whole tour was wonderful. Well planned and well paced. The small crowd size was just perfect. The food and snacks provided on the tour were wonderful. Our guide, Uncle Jim, was absolutely amazing. His knowledge of the island, the culture, their myths and legends, along with his magnificent story telling, kept us entertained and informed the entire tour. The views and stops were amazing from Kona to punalu’u beach to the volcanoes national park. All were great. But being able to see the volcano at night and stargaze was an amazing experience and a memory I will treasure. It was absolutely breath taking. I recommend this tour to anyone that wants to take a day have an adventure and make some lifelong memories.
