Zoet, zoet Hawaiiaans brood!

Punalu'u Black Sand beach
Schildpad tijd! Kom nestelende schildpadden zien op het beroemdste zwarte zandstrand in de Stille Oceaan.
Het strand heeft zwart zand gemaakt van basalt en gecreëerd door lava die in de oceaan stroomt en explodeert als het de oceaan bereikt en afkoelt.
Sterke vloedgolven en een gevaarlijke kustonderbreking zijn alleen voor dappere snorkelaars. We zullen niet zwemmen of snorkelen terwijl we op tour zijn, maar we zullen wel schildpadden kunnen zien die hun weg naar het strand vinden of terug de zee in gaan!

Volcano Winery
Geniet van een gastronomische picknicklunch in dit ongelooflijke pand in Volcano Village, Hawaii! Dit is de meest zuidelijke wijnmakerij in de VS en produceert een aantal echt unieke fruitige wijnen. Aan de achterkant van het pand loopt u door de tuin en geniet u van de rijen groeiende thee. Proef in het proeflokaal wijn, thee of warme chocolademelk. Dit prachtige pand is de perfecte plek om te ontspannen voordat we naar de vulkaan gaan!

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Voor velen is Hawaii Volcanoes National Park het hoogtepunt van de tour. Bezoek de rand van de Halemaumau-krater, verken het bezoekerscentrum en wandel met onze gidsen over de oude lavapaden. Kilauea barstte in het voorjaar van 2018 met geweld uit en veroorzaakte in de zomer 80.000 aardbevingen. Honderd dagen van ondergrondse en spleetuitbarstingen, maken dit de meest opwindende attractie op het eiland Hawaï.

Rainbow Falls
Rainbow Falls is een waterval in Hilo, Hawaii. Het is 80 voet lang en bijna 100 voet in diameter. De watervallen maken deel uit van de Hawai'i State Parks. Er zijn geen kosten om de watervallen te zien. Bij Rainbow Falls stroomt de Wailuku-rivier in een groot zwembad beneden.

Best experience for visitors new to the island of Hawaii. The tour takes you all around the island to see all the highlights. Kait was our tour guide and was absolutely fabulous. She narrates along the tour with the history of the island and points out various notable places of interest. This tour is the best! We had a great time!

This was an Amazing day trip! I had one day to see the island and this was perfect! Alex was an awesome guide who is super knowledgeable and considerate! We got to see the black sand beach, volcano caldera, lave tube and rainbow falls. Alex got us the delicious sweet bread and the breakfast and lunch provided on the tour was really good! Would highly recommend this tour!

Amazing first visit and tour of the Big Island during our 30th anniversary trip! The tour was 12 hours long but worthwhile. So much to do, with incredible sights and fun experiences. Speaking of fun and amazing, Kait was our
guide. Super knowledgeable, witty, and
energetic, Kait provided historical
commentaries interspersed with anecdotes and her experiences as a local. Although I would have preferred spending a bit more time at some places like the coffee farm, Punaluʻu Beach, and Volcanoes NP, the time constraints are understandable considering travel times to hit all the destinations. This tour introduced places we would like to revisit. Kait was courteous and did a great job keeping us on schedule. The tour was well-organized and a comfortable size for a group trip (15 in ours). Amenities included a nice breakfast at Greenwell Farms, a yummy Masada from famed Punaluʻu Bake Shop, delicious lunch at
Volcano Winery, snacks and beverages. The lavender-scented cold washcloths offered to refresh with was a nice touch on a warm day. The whole day's vibes were fun, informative, and relaxing! Highly recommend!

Great tour of the Big Isand

This was an excellent tour of the big island. About 2 years ago, my wife and I toured the whole island by ourselves on our last vacation trip to Hawaii. There was quite a bit of information from our tour guide which we didn't know from our trip around the island ourselves. Thia was a fantastic tour guide. She also had a list of good places to eat. We saw lots of natural transition in landscape. I suggest Thia, if they give you a choice.

Our Big Island CircleTour- Volcano Winery with Adventure Guide Gary Grundwell was fantastic! We saw the most important sights on the circle tour, were delighted to see fountaining lava at Kilauea Crater Overlook, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast & lunch. Gary was very knowledgeable and had an excellent speaking voice. He gave us a perfect blend of history, folk lore, and scientific volcanology facts while keeping it fun, interesting and informative. He responded well to questions and was always mindful of our safety and comfort.
Amazing Tour of the Big Island

Uncle J I M !!!! Oh my, our tour guide was Jim, he was amazing!! From the moment we hopped on the van to the time we got dropped back off at night. He makes me wants to move there! We had a family with littles on board and uncle Jim ( he said to call him that since we are now Ohana) made sure they had enough space to move around if needed on the bus, included them in the fun facts, constantly expressing care for them all while teaching us about the culture. He kept us all engaged and highly entertained with his animated way of story telling. He picked my hubby and I up from the airport so we could tour the big island for the day. It was my first time in Hawaii (hubby use to be stationed while serving in the Marine Corps.) I learned soooooo much!! That man needs a podcast or a tv travel show! He is hilarious, kind, so knowledgeable and so patient. His amazing voice always carried while visiting the many stops to where others around would naturally gather around to hear him talk so passionately about the history of every spot. He would start talking to just the private group and when he ended I would look around and there were 20 additional people that gravitated to him. He was always patient and respectful with the ones not in the group. Uncle Jim definitely has a true deep love for not just Hawaii but for the whole culture and its rich history. His love is so great that you also leave the tour with so much information and love for the culture as well. We ate breakfast before but the tour includes a light breakfast which was perfect because of all the walking definitely works up an appetite. Lunch was included and it was a delicious chicken and rice as well as a snack in the afternoon. Definitely travel light since you really don’t need much. I had a backpack with a couple of snacks, 2 reusable water bottles, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, flip flops (so I could put my feet in water at the beach) and extra pair of socks. When I go back for another tour I will only tour if he is available!! Thank You Uncle Jim for such an unforgettable experience!
